Book Review : God's Table - The Last Supper

We are living rather surviving in this world surrounded by numerous problems of varied nature from personal to political and from health to honor killing. We are so done with hearing about these problems that we think a deaf ear to these problems is an ideal solution. It is very rare that we sit down in person with someone or at least our self to discuss these problems and think of probable solutions except for the meaningless, most of the times, social media rants and banter with other some so called and some not so intellectuals.

God's Table - The Last Supper is a book by Santosh Avvanavar, Jyothi Byahatti and Dr. Sandeep Huilgol which discusses about various issues that we are facing these days. Some of the problems discussed in the book are persistent for a long time while some have erupted very recently though the similarity being their severity.
The book has 12 short stories and each story talks about one problem. It has three characters interacting with each other discussing the problems, their thoughts on it and the probable solutions. The characters are Amrita and Robert who professionally are a school teacher and a doctor respectively, while the third being Paul, who narrates how God would react and solve these problems. Robert and Amrita discuss problems related to Education Medication, Elections, Corruptions, Child Marriage, Social Media, etc. over their meals and it appears that they are talking on our behalf. All the stories end on a positive note, the conversation that Amrita, Robert and Paul have are convincing.

The book has social message that is very much socially relevant and solutions that are significant if one wishes to accept them to implement. You can order a copy of the book from Amazon.
