-- Interview with author Kulvaibhav Kaushik --

Q: How and when did you decide that you wanted to write the book “Love Revisited”?
A: First job in a distant city, is something special. Every day I was creating moments worth cherishing and penning down. Also completing academia, made a sudden break from the creativity which found ample of sink in college days but had no outlet in industry. Staying alone I could give more time to myself and decide to write “Love Revisited”

Q: Is the story of “Love Revisited” inspired from real life events or is it completely fictional?
A: If I say it’s a complete fiction or a real life story, it will be injustice. Love revisited is a collection of everyday incidents that occurred in my life, and in my surroundings. Some of my known ones and other unknown. Collating them all, adding flavors of my imaginations to it and giving them a writer’s blend resulted in “Love Revisited”.

Q: Other than your debut book, "Love Revisited", what other work you have done?
A: Before love revisited I had restricted myself to technical papers. Although I kept writing but never thought to publish my work restricting them to local magazines, posters and social networks.

Q: When did you decide that you want to be a writer? What inspired you to take it up?
A: I never thought to become a writer. Although I was writing since my school days, writing became a habit and got engrained somewhere in blood, while I was unaware of it. The cause I took to writing is the sense of satisfaction that I get after writing something. With time the habit of writing became a passion and soon took over me.

Q: Do you read as much as you write? Which are your favorite books?
A: I confess that I am no bookworm, but exceptions apart, I do manage to read everyday. I enjoy the stories written by Indian Diaspora since they bear efflorescence of our culture and it’s easy to connect with the characters there. Works by Jhumpa Lahiri, Meera Syal are amongst my favorites.

Q: Two things that you like and dislike the most about Love?
A: The best thing about love is that, when you are with your beloved, you forget all your worries, and live every moment to fullest, but at the same time it lands you in ironical situations when you really forget things that you are supposed to remember. Love is best analgesic but sometimes over demanding and possessiveness make love lose all its essence.

Q: You prefer reading e-books or you love the traditional paper/hard back books?
A: E-books have made the availability and reach of books easier and being from IT industry I should favor it, but its other way round. After a daylong encounter with laptop and gadgets, I prefer reading paperback.

Q: Other than writing, what are your other interests?
A: Reading and writing go hand in hand. Reading encompasses from books, newspapers to journals and knowledge artifacts. Other than literature I am a great lover of music and don’t hesitate in lending my voice to the music.

Q: If your book, Love Revisited, is made into a Bollywood film, which actors/actresses would you want to be a part of it?
A: If Love Revisited is made into a Bollywood film, I would like to have Shradha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan play the lead as Shruti-Sameer.

Q: During the course of writing this book, did you ever face a writer's Block? How long did it take for you to complete the book?
A: Debuting in literary world is a tough task, unless you have a huge fan following. Also pursuing your interests along with your regular job leaves you with very less time. It took nearly two years from the point of inception of the idea of writing “Love revisited” to the time it was physically present in my hand.

Q: One message that you would want to convey to our readers?
A: A writer writes a story once but a reader recreates it many times. At every moment while reading, the reader lends wings to his imaginations and recreates the story. Hence the art of reading is as creative as writing. I will just suggest our readers to continue the habit of reading as it is the best diet for brain.

Q: How can our readers connect with you?
A: The readers can connect with me through my Facebook Page. They can also reach out to me at kulvaibhav.kaushik@gmail.com
